Goldfield Iowa Gazette - The body of Mrs. C. H. Scott will lie in state at the United Presbyterian Church at Goldfield Thursday from 10 o'clock in the morning to two o'clock in the afternoon. The funeral services will take place at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. R. M. McCracken officiating and burial will be made in Swiss Cemetery, near Luverne. The casket will not be open during the funeral services. Mrs. Scott nee Alma Geigel was born near Renwick 38 years ago and grew to young womanhood there. She passed away of a brain infection which developed into sleeping sickness, with death occurring at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Dodge, Tuesday morning following an illness of two weeks. Her husband and her mother, Mrs. Henry Geigel of Renwick; and two sisters, Miss Lena of Renwick and Mrs. Dora Dean of Corinth survive, together with a host of friends who are grief stricken at the sudden passing of this beloved young woman. Mrs. Scott had been a resident of Goldfield for the past 8 years, coming here with her husband to she was married at Renwick twenty years ago. For sometime they lived in Kentucky, later living at Renwick where Mr. Scott was a station agent for the Northwestern. On moving to Goldfield, they took up farming and made their home a short distance north of town. Mrs. Scott was a pianist of great ability and had charge of the music at the United Presbyterian Church since coming here. She always shared her talent, giving freely of her time and ability to any civic of church organization asking for her services. She took an active part in her church and community, being a member of the Ellen McLaughlin Missionary Guild, the Oakdale Daughter of Ceres and the Birthday Club. She was Active in every movement for the good of the community and her cheerful manner, her great ability and her capacity for deep friendship and neighborly services will be greatly missed.
