November 20, 1923 --- April 9, 2016

Forrest Laverne Rowley was born on November 20, 1923, to Elmer Jackson and Rosa Christena Rasmussen Rowley, in Kanawha, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm and worked for his father on his 160 acre general farm. He also worked for other farmers in the area. He graduated from Kanawha High School in 1940. Forrest joined the Army on March 25, 1943, to support the World War II effort, serving under General Patton, in the Sixth Armored Division, 777 Battery, Company B. He separated from the Army on December 6, 1945. He joined the US Air Force where he served through the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the US Air Force in 1965 as a Master Sergeant. For 10 years he worked as a civilian employee in the Ejection Shop at Hill AFB until retiring in 1975. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 8307, Clearfield, Utah.

Forrest married Emma Lou Knox (divorced/deceased) to this union a son, Dennis Alan (Connie) Rowley of Louisville, Colorado, was born. Forrest married Leona Gray (deceased) on November 5, 1982, in Farmington, Utah. Leona had two daughters, Rebecca (Bill) Larsen and Debra Lynn Hill (deceased). Forrest married Laree Spackman (deceased) on September 28, 1996, in Syracuse, Utah. Laree had two daughters, Wendy (Clyde) Smith and Jackie (Dave) Horting.

Forrest is survived by his son, Dennis Alan (Connie) Rowley; grandson, John (Hannah) Rowley of Boulder, Colorado; and brother, Edward (Cathy) Rowley of Middleton, Wisconsin; stepchildren, Bill and Becky Larsen, Wendy and Clyde Smith, and Jackie and Dave Horting; and stepgrandchildren, Tonya Larsen, Keith (Alyssa) Larsen, Robert Hill, Derick Smith, Brittney Smith, and Nathan Horting. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arald, Lewis, and Keith; and sister, Viola Shahan.

Special thanks to Comfort Care Hospice team and Chancellor Gardens of Clearfield staff and residents for their wonderful care of Forrest.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment at a later date at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden, Utah.
