October 13, 1855 --- February 16, 1903

Mary Jane Etzler was born in Pennsylvania, October 13, 1855, and died at Mercy hospital, Des Moines, Feb. 16, 1903, aged 47 years, 4 months, and 3 days. Her parents dying during her infancy, she was taken by her grandparents to Stephenson county, Illinois, where she lived until last March, when the family moved to their present home east of Eagle Grove. She was married to H. A. C. Frybarger, December 24, 1875, at Monroe, Wisconsin, and was the mother of nine children all of whom survive her except one son who died in infancy. Four boys and three girls are at home and a married daughter in Ill. Besides the husband and children three brothers mourn her untimely death.

Mrs. Frybarger united with the English Lutheran church when a young girl. She was a loving wife, an affectionate mother, a kind neighbor and a consistent christian. Family duties kept her from regular attendance at church but she reared her family in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Her work she felt was ended and she was ready to go or stay as the Lord might direct. The funeral service was held from the Baptist church, February 18, and the remains laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
