Aug. 25, 1889 --- April 24, 1919

Mrs. John Ahlers died at her home 2 miles southeast of Granville Thursday, after an illness of two weeks. She was Miss Anna Degen of Clarion, Ia., and was married to John Ahlers about three years ago, who with a small baby boy survives her. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Joseph's church and burial took place here. The sympathy of the entire community, is with the husband and relatives.

Anna Gertrude Degen was married to John Ahlers on February 3, 1915 in Wright County, Iowa; Their first two children were: Robert Ahlers [July 23, 1917 - July 23, 1917]; Dorothy Ahlers [May 19, 1918 -- May 19, 1918]; the young son surviving her was Leo W. Ahlers who was born April 13, 1919; the children were all born in Sioux County, Iowa]
