Carl B. Moser, the son of Joseph and Mary Streid Moser, was born on Aug. 22, 1895, at Meadows, Ill. When Carl was 13 years old, his family moved to Iowa and settled on a farm in the Vincent area. He grew up on the farm and attended Troy Township schools. On Aug. 31, 1921, he was united in marriage with Sara J. Beaver at Goldfield. The couple made their home in the Vincent area until 1947, when they moved into Eagle Grove. Carl continued to be active in farming for several years. He was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church and the Bower Masonic Lodge of Eagle Grove.

He died early Friday morning, Jan. 7, 1983, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, where he had been a patient for the past week. Carl is survived by his wife, Sara of Eagle Grove; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Clifford Hultgren of Omaha, Nebr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Pat Moser of Eagle Grove; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Faye Moser of Eagle Grove; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Larry Strain of Mason City; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard and two sisters, Ursula, Mrs. A. Glen Williams and Grace, Mrs. Harold Newbrough.

Funeral services for Carl B. Moser, 87, of Eagle Grove, were held on Monday, Jan. 10, 1983 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen, church pastor officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
