Hope Gladys Hanson was born on June 26, 1912, at Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Peder J. and Isabel J. Nelson Hanson. She attended country schools by Duncombe and Thor, Iowa. She later completed a course in sewing. On June 25, 1932, she was united in marriage to Leonard Anderson at Badger, Iowa. She was a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and Lois Circle.

Hope G. Anderson died Monday, July 10, 2000, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, at the age of 88. Survivors include five daughters, Marvetta Jean Gerard, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Darlene Ruth Campbell, and husband, Bill, McCook Lake, S. D., Rebecca Jane Kotchka, Eagle Grove, Joanne Hope Will, and husband, Clayton, Badger, and LuCinda Rae Asche, and husband, John, Eagle Grove; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Isadora Anderson, Wisconsin; two brothers, Herbert Hanson, Fort Dodge, and Kenneth Hanson, and wife, Ona, Rutland, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; one son, Darrell Gene; one grandson, Darrell Gene; three sisters, Eleah Adson, Helen Roepke, and Martha Hanson; and three brothers, Marvin Hanson, Ingren Hanson, and Bernard Hanson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 13, 2000, 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove, with the Reverends Paul and Susan Stone officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
