Services for Mrs. Clara Steenblock were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Eyler Funeral Chapel with the Rev. E. C. Allen officiating. Burial was at the Galt Cemetery. Mrs. Steenblock, the former Clara Ryder, was born May 13, 1870 at North Egremont, Mass., and came to Wright County as a small child. She lived near Rowan until her marriage on March 23, 1893 at Clarion to William W. Steenblock. The couple farmed in the Ackley and Galt area until 1929 when they retired and moved into Clarion. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth, Mrs. T. M. Hendriksen of Clarion, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.The Steenblocks raised two of their granddaughters, Barbara and Marvel in their home. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sons, Lyman, Lewis and Charles. Mrs. Steenblock became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at the age of 20 years.
