Michael Douglas, 65, Box Elder, South Dakota died peacefully, Wednesday March 2, 2016 at Rapid City Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones. He was born February 11, 1951 in Goldfield, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Althea Douglas. He married Cathi Klein, March 25, 1972, with whom he would have celebrated 44 years of marriage later this month. Michael is a Vietnam Veteran proudly serving 20 years in the United States Air Force. He was a sales associate with Sears for 15 years and after retiring enjoyed volunteering at the Boys Club of Rapid City and Meals on Wheels. He is loving father of Rochelle (Jeff) Day and Corey Douglas. Proud grandfather of Joshua and Brandon Day. Further survived by one brother Bill (Jan) Douglas and five sisters Judy (John) Frakes, Jackie (Jeff) Tharp, Debra (Dick) Thompson, Lori (Larry) Weets, and Connie (Kyle) Ruiter. In addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relations. Mike will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend and will be missed greatly. Memorials may be sent to Kirk Funeral Home 1051 E Minnesota St, Rapid City, SD 57701 and will be donated to The Boys Club of Rapid City or the Meals on Wheels Program.

Visitation will be Monday, March 7, 2016 from 10:00-11:00am, followed by a Funeral service at 11:00am at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City. Burial for immediate family will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
