December 11, 1925 --- February 10, 2011

Marvin George Blau, 85, of Latimer, Iowa, passed away February 10, 2011, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa. He was born December 11, 1925, in Sheffield, Iowa, to George and Reka (Gerdes) Blau. Marvin graduated from the Alexander Community School. He served his Country in the United States Army 260th Infantry, 65th Division 3rd Army. Marvin married Patty Wagoner on January 17, 1950, in Belmond, Iowa. He was a custodian for the Franklin Consolidated School/CAL Community School from 1950-1987. Marvin was a member of the Zion Reformed Church and was a member of the Hansen-Have Legion Post 658 of Latimer. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, woodworking, the Iowa Hawkeyes and his family.

Marvin is survived by his wife Patty Blau of Latimer, daughter Cathy Blau of Latimer, daughter Janell Blau of Latimer, son Dale (June) Blau of Latimer, grandson Adam (Carrie) Blau of Hampton, grandson Aaron (Mandy) Blau of North Liberty and a great granddaughter Ava Marie Blau. He was preceded in death by his parents,an infant son, three sisters Esther Koenen, Faye Littzen, Ruth Hemmes and one brother Edward Blau.

Burial will be in the Alexander Cemetery. Military services provided by American Legion Hansen-Have Post 658 of Latimer.
