E. Faye Littzen, 84, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Saturday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gordon Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. today at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

She is survived by her son, Mike Littzen; grandchildren, Beau, Kaela, and Ty Littzen all of Fort Dodge; a brother, Marvin of Latimer, Iowa. Mrs. Littzen is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, George and Margaret (Gerdes) Blau; step-mother, Reka; brother, Edward; and two sisters, Ruth Hemmes and Esther Koenen.

E. Faye Blau was born November 4, 1922 on a farm near Alexander, Iowa. She graduated from Alexander High School in 1940 and then went to nurses training and graduated from St. Josephs College of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa as a registered nurse in 1944. Faye worked in St. John's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota until 1947, and then went to work at the Hampton Clinic in Hampton, IA. In 1948, she married John Littzen who was in the U.S. Air Force. After marriage they moved to Mather AFB in Sacramento, California and she work in the field hospital at the Air Force Base until 1953. They then moved back to Fort Dodge where Faye worked at the Lutheran Hospital, now Trinity Regional Medical Center, where she retired from in 1980. Her husband, John died on June 26, 1985 and after his death she continued to live in Fort Dodge. Faye was an avid golfer, bowler, and softball player. Mrs. Littzen is a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. In Lieu of flowers memorial may be left to the Kidney Foundation.
