October 7, 1874 -- February 1, 1923

Military honors were accorded at the funeral services for C. Grant Refsnider at 2:30 p. m. today at Petersen Bros. chapel and at the grave in Elmwood. The rites were conducted by Fred Willier camp Spanish-American War Veterans, of which decedent was a member, and by Rev. A. C. Preston, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Bearers were comrades from the came as follows: C. W. Cotton, W. J. Peddicord, Dr. A. H. McKellar, G. F. Seales, William Lingelbach, J. A. Gury. Members of Helen Gould auxiliary also attended.

Mr. Refsnider, who died at his home in Cedar Rapids, Ia., Feb 1 had been a business sales manager for Martin Bros.' company nearly a year and removed from Waterloo about two years ago.

He was born at Greene, Ia., Oct. 7, 1874. He enlisted there in the Spanish War and served until mustered out at the end of the occupation of Cuba. His father is a Civil War veteran, a member of Robert Anderson post of this city. At the time of his death, Mr. Refsnider was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Cedar Rapids, Waterloo Travelingmen's association, United Commercial Travelers, Knights of Pythias and Maccabees.

Surviving are the widow, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Refsnider, and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Green and Mrs. W. H. Howrey, Waterloo. The parents, who had been spending the winter in California returned Sunday morning.
