Henry P. Guild, 91, Aitkin, Minnesota died Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin. A memorial service was held at a later date at the Kimberly Church in Kimberly. Arrangements were with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.

Henry was born June 16, 1922, in Clarion, IA, to Clarence and Esther Guild. He grew up in Austin, MN, where he graduated from high school. He worked briefly for the Hormel Packing Co. He volunteered for the U.S. Army during WWII and received was trained as a radio technician. After discharge, he attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. After graduation, he taught electricity at Dunwoody. Later, he worked as a heavy duty truck mechanic for Raymond Trucking Co. where he worked until he retired. In 1949, Henry married Vivian Groves in Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, stepson Jay Groves, stepdaughter: Janeth Harvey; sisters: Minnie Burkhart, Esther Guild; and brothers Ralph, Calvin and Laurence.
