Estherville – Services for August C. [Carl] Anderson, 72, Estherville will be held Friday afternoon, 2 p.m. in the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel, Estherville, with the Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 8, 1909 in Dunnell, Minn., the son of Peter Anderson and Elizabeth Klinkel Anderson. He was educated in the Dunnell and Sherburn schools. He was married to Averil Sargent on May 4, 1939 in Renwick, Ia., and has lived in Emmet County the past 43 years. He farmed until his retirement in 1971. Mr. Anderson was an ASCS Committeeman for Ellsworth Township, member of the Emmet County Farm Bureau and also served as Ellsworth Township Clerk. He was a member of the Huntington United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Averill, Estherville; one son Jeff Anderson of Seward, Alaska; one daughter, Jill, of Lexington, Ky.; two grandchildren: John David and Nicole Lynn Anderson; one brother, Fred Anderson of Dunnell. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
