Randy Lee Toppenberg, 57, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in Clarion. He was born on Nov. 16, 1954, in Ames, the son of Elmar and Carolyn (Smith) Toppenberg. He was a member of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. He spent 19 years at the Eagle Grove Group Home and was employed by Krysilis. He is survived by his stepmother, Caroline Toppenberg; and nine siblings, Ron Toppenberg, of Newton, Judy Harrison, of Camp Verde, Ariz., Jerry Dahl, of Clinton, Jan Stivers, of Tucson, Ariz., Stanly Kay Chaloupka, of Loveland, Colo., Christine Dahl, of Ames, Cynthia Barton, of Ames, Debbie Fry, of Ames and Nick Dahl, of Memphis, Tenn.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, with a prayer service at 11:30 led by Pastor Jason Cooper. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The family would like memorial contributions be made to Opportunity Village, PO Box 622, Clear Lake, IA, 50548.
