March 3, 1897 --- June 18, 1995

Glenn W. Hansen, 98, of Hawarden, died Sunday, June 18, 1995 at his residence in Hawarden. Funeral Service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Associated Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Randy Knuth officiating. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation was at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mr. Hansen was born March 3, 1897 at Lake City. He served with the US Army during WWI. He worked on a way freight between Hawarden and Eagle Grove, before moving to Hawarden in 1919. Glenn married Alma Pierson March 9, 1918 at Hawarden. He worked for the Northwestern Railroad until his retirement. She died May 15, 1985. Glenn was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF and AM for over 50 years, member of the Shrine, over 70 year member of the American Legion, a member of the Associated Church and was a charter member of the last member of the Last Man's Club. He was parade marshal in 1982, King of the Hawarden Centennial Parade in 1987 and on April 9, 1994 he was honored with a medallion for his service in WWI.

Survivors include a sister, Sue Manson of Camden, AK; and several nephews and nieces, including a niece, Alma Koob of Hawarden.
