Harlan “Dean” Tegland, 82, of Moose Lake, [Minnesota] passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Augustana Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born June 3, 1933 in Goodell, IA to Truman and Leta (Roberts) Tegland. Dean was united in marriage to Rita Marie Shock on June 12, 1955 in Lime Springs, IA. Dean worked at Wood Conversion of Cloquet, Sears as a Service Repairman, Moose Lake Water and Light and maintenance at Carlton County Fairgrounds. Dean was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #31 as well as Evergreen P.A.C. ATV Club. Dean enjoyed gardening, woodworking, riding ATV and especially spending time with his family.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Layne Nordrum; granddaughter, Liza DeRungs; brothers, Theodore and Virgil Tegland; son-in-law, Ed Kropp; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Harvey Myre; sisters-in-law, Liz and Kathy Shock; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph and Barbara Shock. Dean is survived by his loving wife, Rita Tegland of Moose Lake; daughters, Diane (Steve) Olson of Sturgeon Lake, Linda Kropp of Moose Lake, Jean (Ken) Hedin of Moose Lake and Brenda (Mike) Nordrum of Wasilla, AK; grandchildren, Jesse (Trent) Monahan, Levi (Natasha) Hedin, Larry (Linda) DeRungs, Becky (Rory) Johnson, Luke (Natalia) DeRungs and Lilly Nordrum; great grandchildren, Chase, London and Irelee Monahan, Larry Jo, Tobey and Laura DeRungs and Josephine Hedin; many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Kenneth Shock of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law, Darla Tegland of Cokato and Faye Tegland of Forest City, IA; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 16th from 1 PM until the 2 PM Service in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake. Casket Bearers are Ken Hedin, Steve Olson, Luke DeRungs, Levi Hedin, Larry DeRungs and Trent Monahan. Honorary Casket Bearers are Mike Nordrum and Rory Johnson. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake, MN.
