Ervin Herman William Lange, 94, of Alden, died on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 25, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Buckeye, with burial in the Alden Cemetery. The Surls Funeral Home in Alden was in charge of the arrangements.

Ervin Herman William Lange, was born on March 15, 1912 in Alden, the son of Frank and Anna (Klaffke) Lange. He received his education in the Hardin County Country Schools. Ervin was united in marriage to Mildred Naoma Crawford on June 7, 1947, in the First Congregational Church in Iowa Falls. He was a lifelong area resident and farmer.

He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Buckeye, where he served as a trustee and elder for many years. He was also a member of the Pine Lake Wildlife Club in Eldora. Ervin enjoyed spending his free time fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Iowa Falls; nephews, Ronald Weatherman of Waterloo and Jerry Weatherman of Eastsound, Washington; and niece, Joyce McCann of Wayzata, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, August H. Lange; and a sister, Viola Weatherman.
