OTTUMWA - Arlene Mae Sapp, 86, formerly of 919 Boone Ave., died December 31, 2011 at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born March 4, 1925 in Irvington, IA to Daniel and Dorothy Schulz. She married Keith Sapp on January 31, 1947. A graduate of Clarion [Clarion, Wright county, Iowa] High School, she had worked as a bookkeeper, working for Electronic Engineering in Des Moines, Look magazine and Keith Sapp Electric. She had been a member of Davis St. Christian Church in Ottumwa and was a member of the Eldon Christian Church. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing having belonged to B-Squares and Dudes and Dolls.

Surviving are her husband, Keith; a son, Gary (Donna) Sapp of Parkridge, Il; a daughter, Dianna (Kenneth) Hartman of Bloomfield; 8 grandchildren, Kelly (Gary) Caldwell, Brian (Mary) Utoft, Mark (Toni) Utoft, Ben Utoft, Andrew (Maureen) Sapp, Julie (William) Dickinson, Eric Sapp and Abby Sapp; 4 great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hardy, Emma Utoft, Jessica Utoft and Thomas Dickinson; a sister, Joyce (Earl) Smith of Des Moines; and a brother, Larry Schulz of Gladstone, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Gregory Utoft, and two brothers, Darrold and Richard Schulz.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Joshua Gordon officiating. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Eldon Christian Church.
