Evelyn Srigley, age 86, of Boone, died January 9, 2016, at the Boone County Hospital. A family Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall. Burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery at a later date. The family will greet friends at the funeral chapel after 12:30 p.m.

Evelyn Lorene Srigley was born in Blairsburg, Iowa, on March 26, 1929, the daughter of Clarence and Margaret (Scott) Loux. She attended high school in Wright County near Blairsburg. Evelyn worked as a clerk for many years at the F. W. Woolworth variety store and then the Boone Blank Book Co., both formerly in Boone. She retired in 1996. Evelyn enjoyed shopping, coffee at the local tea houses, spending time outdoors, and times spent with her children and their families. Evelyn also enjoyed trips to Colorado and Clear Lake.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Nicole Ludwig, a daughter-in-law Clara Srigley, and a brother Eldon Loux. Evelyn is survived by two sons, Randy Srigley and wife Linda and Rick Srigley, all of Boone; a daughter Deb Ludwig of Fort Collins, Colorado; a brother Johnny Loux and wife Rosann of Clarion; a sister-in-law Wanda Loux of Rowan; six grandchildren, Heather (Ludwig) Morrow and husband Jamison, Danielle (Srigley) Crook and husband Jon, Steven Srigley, Jason Srigley and companion Dawn Stewart, Shannon (Srigley) Broderick and husband Michael, and Jessica Srigley and companion Curt Anderson; eight great-grandchildren, Kate Crook, Hunter Crook, Alex Vodenik, Jacob Srigley, Sadie Srigley, Aaron Broderick, Amelia Broderick, and Asher Broderick; and other relatives. In memory of Evelyn, memorials may be directed to the family.
