Douglas R. Lesher, the son of Mike and Deb (Daniels) Lesher, was born February 3, 1981, in Clarion, Iowa. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1999 and then pursued his post-secondary career at Iowa Central Community College, Buena Vista University and finished by graduating from the police academy. Doug served five years with the Boone police force.

On July 14, 2007, Doug was united in marriage to Stacey White. Together they have two beautiful children, Peyton, 6 and Collin, 2. He enjoyed spending time with his children, camping, playing video games and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs to victory. Always the jokester, he loved pulling pranks on family and friends and cherished time spent helping on the family farm.

Doug passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, in Boone at the age of 34 years. Doug is survived by Stacey Lesher; children, Peyton and Collin Lesher, all of Boone; parents, Mike and Deb Lesher; brother, Dan Lesher (Breanne Kastler); grandmother, Carol Lesher, all of Woolstock; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Marilyn Daniels and Orville Lesher, and a cousin, Justin Lesher.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16th, 2016, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Jason Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the French Cemetery near Woolstock. Visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
