November 10, 1928 --- January 4, 2016

Mary C. Moore, 87, of Mason City, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at the IOOF Home in Mason City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at Epiphany Parish Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 North Adams, Mason City, with Father Neil Manternach officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood- St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00p.m. Thursday January 7, 2016 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd Street NE, with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Scriptural Wake. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa, and Mercy Ambassadors.

Mary Catherine Moore, daughter of Thomas J. and Hazella M. (Downing) Chambers, was born November 10, 1928 in Clarion, Iowa. She was united in marriage to William J. Moore on June 30, 1951 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Fort Dodge, in 1946, and graduated from Mt. Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, in 1948. She taught Elementary School in Swaledale, Gilmore City, and Des Moines. After raising her boys she managed the gift shop at Mercy Hospital for over twenty years. She also volunteered at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of Epiphany Parish Holy Family Catholic Church, Card Club, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for fifty-five years. Mary enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, being outside and doing yard work, reading about home decorating, wood work refinishing, and enjoyed traveling in her earlier years.

She is survived by her husband, William J. Moore, of Mason City; two sons, Michael (Suzanne) Moore, of Albert Lea, MN; and John Moore (Fiancé, Alexis Bohman), of Mason City; grandchildren, Anne (Robert) Long; Ryan (Jessica) Moore; three great grandchildren, Evelyn, Kara, and Harper Long; two sisters-in-law, Sue and Ann Chambers. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, son, Joseph Moore, sister, Margaret McGonegle, three brothers, Edward, James and John Chambers.
