Barney Olai Eittreim was born in Odda, Hardanger, Norway, Sept. 29, 1837, and died in Eagle Grove, Iowa,, Nov. 13, 1924, age 87 years, 1 month and 15 days. Mr. Eittreim came to the United States, to DeKalb county, Illinois, in 1873 where he remained only a short time, then he moved to Story county Iowa. He was married to Miss Lena Iverson September 8, 1876. Five children were born to this union, three girls and two boys. Two have passed away, three are living, who together with their aged mother are sorrowing over the loss of a kind father and husband. The living are: Mrs. Julia Nelson, Emery Eittreim, and Mrs. Emma Johnson all of Eagle Grove. He also leaves seven grandchildren. In 1892 Mr. Eittreim moved with his family to Eagle Grove, where he lived until his death. He leaves three brothers: Garies of Brantwood, Wisc., Dan of Spirit Falls, Wisc., and Ole of Ellsworth, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16th, from the home on Eastern avenue, and from the East Side Lutheran church.
