Major William A. (Bill) Parker, U.S. Air Force, retired, passed away the age of 90 in Colorado Springs on January 4, 2016. Bill was born April 5th, 1925 in Belmond, IA to the late William A. and Viva Parker. He was also predeceased by his wife; Anne (Evans) Parker, the mother of his children, his eldest son, Patrick, his two sisters; Patricia Cunningham and Marlys Moore and a step grandson.

Bill married June Von Rueden in 1987. She survives him. He is also survived by his five sons; Michael (Carol), Shaun (Julie), Kevin (Holly), Kelly and Casey. He is also survived by six stepchildren; Patricia Von Rueden (husband, Michael Bucher), Deborah Von Rueden, Paul (Ines) Von Rueden, Mark (Leslie) Von Rueden, Lori Von Rueden (husband, Jeff Pettibone) and Jane Von Rueden. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; six step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill served in World War II, Korean and Viet Nam wars. He was awarded the Bronze Star and numerous other awards and decorations as well as being a lifetime member of the Retired Officers Association. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa. He taught Air Science and Tactics at St. Louis University. He retired from the Air Force in 1968. He then worked for the Social security Administration and retired in 1984. He liked watching old movies and was an avid sports fan, especially his college football team, the Iowa Hawkeyes, also the St. Louis Cardinals and the Broncos.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 8755 Scarborough Drive 80920 on January 9, 2016 at 10:00 am.
