SERVICES HELD
Ada F. Griewe, 86, of Grinnell died of Alzheimer's disease Thursday, July 14, at St. Francis Manor. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Raymond Lott of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services were conducted at 3 p.m. at the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme, with the Rev. Herb Shafer, pastor of the Klemme United Methodist Church, officiating. Memorials in Mrs. Griewe's name may be made to the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
The daughter of George and Harriet Ayers Omer, she was born Oct. 11, 1901, in Mankato, Kan. She moved with her family to a farm south of Paulina and later graduated from Paulina High School. She received her college education at Morningside College in Sioux City. She was married to Cyrus Griewe June 26, 1923, at Center Point. Mr. Griewe was a teacher and school administrator, and the family lived in Sutherland, Sioux Rapids, Sibley and Sac City. They moved to Grinnell in 1965. Mrs. Griewe was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, the DAR and J.B. Chapter, P.E.O.
She is survived by her son, Larry of Grinnell; two grandchildren; and twin sisters, Mina and Marie Omer of Glendale, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and two sisters.
