Dorothy Elaine (Schnell) Reichter, 83, of Goldfield, IA, died Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center. Her visitation will be held Wednesday, December 30th, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield. The memorial service will be Thursday, December 31st, at 10:30 AM at the Renwick Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. A luncheon will follow at the Renwick Baptist Church. Foust Funeral Home – Goldfield is caring for the family.

She was born to Sander & Lillian (Williams) Schnell on October 26, 1932 in Goldfield, IA. She graduated from Goldfield High School in 1950. Beryl Reichter and Dorothy were married on October 29, 1950 in Goldfield. Dorothy was a homemaker until her children were grown. She worked for the Goldfield Bank, Cheese Mart, Dakotah Shoppe and Stoakes Accounting. She was a life-long Goldfield resident.

Dorothy was very active in her church. She was part of the Women's Club, made things for White Cross, was a deacon and an honorary deacon. She was the first woman to lead Mid American Baptist Churches of Iowa and Minnesota. She volunteered for numerous school functions. Dorothy and Beryl made and sold crafts and attended craft shows all over the Midwest. She also taught night sewing classes. Dorothy's hobbies also included golfing and bowling.

Her family includes: her husband, Beryl, of 65 years, children Galen (Jackie) of Woodward, Dale (Jackie) of Sidney, Donna (Jim) McCary of Allison, Ron (Kathy) of Clarion and Wayne of Omaha, NE, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister Edna (Dennis) Stoll of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Shirley and Marge Trask, and brother Roger Schnell.
