Roger Christensen, 66, Olathe, KS, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at the Indian Creek Nursing Center. Roger was preceded in death by his parents [buried in Eagle Grove, Iowa] and brother David. He is survived by three children; and five grandchildren, David (Gina) Christensen, Tyler, Hayley and Jacob, Olathe, KS, Pamela Christensen, Kansas City, MO, and Bill Christensen, Sean and Mallory, CA. Roger and his family lived in Omaha, Nebraska after his US Army military service. Roger was a very friendly, gracious sort of man, but emotionally troubled. He had difficulty holding a job. He was diagnosed with some kind of brain condition that caused his brain to shrink over a long period of time. It may have been that way from childhood. The condition caused him, in his more senior years to seem inebriated, but he was not. He lived in Kansas City, Missouri for the last several years of his life, as did his ex-wives and his children.

Roger married three times; none lasted. His first marriage was to Emilie J. Eide whom he married 1 August 1958 in Washington state, and by whom he had a son, William Irving "Bill." Bill later took the surname Fuentes, his step father, but later reconnected with his genetic father and returned to the surname Christensen. He lives in California.

Roger married next to Barbara "Barb" McGonagle on 29 June 1963. They had two children: David Phillip "Dave" and Pamela Evelyn "Pam."

Roger married next to Joan Philips Steigmeir on 27 August 1988 in Kansas City, Kansas. They had no children.

Roger, now divorced, died in a nursing home in Kansas City, MO. He has a grave site designated for him next to his parents' graves in Eagle Grove, Iowa, but as of late 2015 his cremains are still on a mantle in the home of Roger's son Dave in Kansas City.
