Eileen A. Krabbe, age 93, of Latimer passed away Thursday December 3, 2015 at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services for Eileen A. Krabbe will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter. Pastor Janet Wiarda will officiate. Burial will take place in the Coulter Cemetery. Visitation for Eileen A. Krabbe will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 320 East Street, in Latimer.

Eileen Ann, daughter of John and Mary O’Connor Hallagan, was born on October 13, 1922 in Vincent. She grew up in the Clarion and Rowan areas and graduated from Rowan High School in 1940. On February 17, 1942, Eileen was united into marriage with Herluf Krabbe. They made their home on the farm near Coulter. The couple was blessed with four children: Mary Jean, Calvin, Paul, and Deborah. After Herluf passed away in 1992, Eileen continued to live out on the farm. She was a devoted and loving mother who cherished spending time with her family and has left a legacy of love. She welcomed everyone who came to her door.

For 28 years, Eileen was a dedicated teacher in the school communities of Alexander, Jewell, and Dows. She was an independent woman. In her spare time, she would work on crossword puzzles and read. She loved her special birthday trips to the casino. In the summers, she enjoyed tending to her garden. She always made the most delicious meals for her family.

Eileen is survived by her four children: Mary Jean Scholvin from Chicago, IL, Calvin (Luanne) Krabbe from Belmond, Paul (Belen) Krabbe from Latimer, Deborah (Bob) McNamara-Dowell from Sacramento, CA, fourteen grandchildren: Amy (Tom) DeCosta from New Haven, CO, Kris Scholvin from Dallas, TX, Danny Krabbe from Texarkana, AR, Christian William from San Francisco, CA, Tammy Gatinel from Manhattan Beach, CA, Rachel Krabbe from Mosinee, WI, Mike (Tina) Deardeuff from Hampton, Chris (Marsha) Deardeuff from Algona, Matt (Brooke) Deardeuff from Charles City, Allison McNamara from Seattle WA, Patrick McNamara from Granite Bay, CA, Morgan McNamara from Bend, OR, Jane Dowell from Sacramento, CA, Jack Dowell from Sacramento, CA, 11 great-grandchildren: Charlie, Anora, Luca, Gavin, Sophie, Cora, Abbey, James, Josie, Parker, Rivera, one brother Terry Hallagan from Chicago, IL, one sister Joyce Kriege from Oshkosh, WI, and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Hallagan, husband Herluf, son-in-laws: Shawn McNamara, Charlie Scholvin, and sister Claire Zielinski.
