December 11, 1890 --- October 14, 1978

Mrs. Ida C. Long, the daughter of Simon and Harriet Lalor, was born December 11, 1890 on a farm near Eagle Grove. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School and operated a millinery store for several years in Grundy Center. On July 10, 1917 she was married to Dr. J. E. Long. They resided in Eagle Grove where Dr. Long died on October 10, 1963. Ida died on October 14, 1978 at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home at the age of 87.

Survivors include her son, John J. Long, McLean, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Allen, Clarion and Mrs. Helen Amundson, Eagle Grove; two brothers, Walter Lalor, Des Moines and Melvin Lalor, Des Moines; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Long was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Funeral services were held on October 16, at the Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove. Reverend Norman White officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
