June 17, 1929 --- November 3, 2015

Peggy Eleen (Martin – Summers - Lawson) Parker, the daughter of Lois and Lucille (Newkirk) Martin, and Step-Daughter of Barb Tillie, was born June 17, 1929, in Mecca, Indiana. She was raised by her grandmother, Hattie Newkirk in Kalo, Iowa. Peggy married Howard P. Summers and to this union, six children were born, he preceded her in death. Peggy married Earl G. Lawson and to this union, two children were born, he preceded her in death. Peggy married Clarence Parker and he preceded her in death. Peggy was a mother and homemaker, living in various communities such as Goldfield, Bode and Webster City, but spent the majority of her life in Jefferson.

Peggy enjoyed traveling, visiting relatives, taking her children, nephews and grandchildren to the drive-in theater. Peggy loved an adventure, no matter how big or small. Peggy was full of life and was not afraid to share her opinion. Peggy usually had the last word in any argument, no matter how big her foe, right Uncle Denny? Peggy was always the first to demand a hug, but also the first to put you in line. Peggy was most comfortable around her family and loved company. Peggy was the self-proclaimed potty training expert, training her children, her nephews, and most of her grandchildren. Most everyone was welcome in Peggy's house, as long as you didn't wear your hat inside. Peggy was a nurse, teacher, referee, and sometimes judge and jury. But, most of all she was our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Great Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt Peggy, and Friend, and we all miss her.

Peggy passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, the age of 86 years. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents; father and step-mother, Lois and Barbara Martin; mother, Lucille Martin (Newkirk); grandsons, Alec Lawson, Gilbert Hirsch and Jimmy Lawson; sister, Bertha Wolf; brothers, Norman, Jack and Thomas Martin and step-sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Parkhill. Survivors include her children: Marlys Summers Roe (Tom) of Webster City, Marlene Summers Elsbecker (Jerry) of Laurens, Harold Summers (Pam) of Webster City, Herschell Summers (Angela) of Hubbard, Harry Summers (Rhonda) of Fort Dodge, Howard "Dewayne" Summers of Kellogg, Tim Lawson (Eve) of Des Moines and Ted Lawson of Tama; 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brothers: Rick Martin (Kathy), Ed Martin (Gwen), Loys Alan Baetke (Janet) and Ronnie Griesse; sisters, Connie and Roxanne and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
