August 17, 1923 --- October 13, 2015

Audrey Ann (Bacon) Broderick, Age 92, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of October 13, 2015, in Spokane, WA with her two daughters at her side. Audrey was born to Mabel and Claud Bacon on August 17, 1923 in Clarion, Iowa, but spent most of her life on a farm near Modesto, California with her parents, brother and little sister. After the death of her mother when she was just 14 years old, Audrey went to live for awhile with her half-sister, Dorothy Heimer and family. She later went to live in Golden, Colorado with her father and stepmother. After graduating from high school, she joined the US Air Force at Bolling Field, Washington, D.C. during WWII. She and her friend, Evelyn used to hitch rides on Air Force planes going to many different states. They saw a lot of the country that way and had a blast! They did have to pay $1 to "rent" a parachute. After the war, she attended Colorado University and the Gemological Institute of America. She married Robert Bolton and together they owned Bolton's Jewelry in Beaverton, OR for many years and raised two daughters. After Robert's premature death, she met and married Louis Davis, her square dance partner. After Louie passed in 1972, Audrey attended Portland Community College and became a medical laboratory technician for Kaiser Permanente and worked there for many years before retiring and moving to Spokane. There, she married Earl Broderick and they enjoyed several years of square and round dancing until his death in 2002.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Cecil, and 19-year-old sister Alta Rose Jane Bacon. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Vivier and Janelle Cobb; grandsons Anthony Corona, Robert Page Jr., Eric Vivier and Michael Hall, and five great-grandchildren. Audrey and her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Horizon Hospice for their caring support of Audrey after her diagnosis of cancer in 2010. Her family feels blessed to have enjoyed the extra time they had to spend with her. By her request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Riplinger Funeral Home & Crematory - Spokane, Washington.
