Services for Mrs. John L. Brown, 54, were held on Monday, March 26, at 1:30 p. m. at the Boldt Funeral Home and at 2 p. m. at the First English Lutheran church. The Rev. A. L. Rustad officiated. Mrs. Brown had died on Friday, March 23, at her home, 1174 Fifth avenue S. W. Mrs. A. L. Rustad sang "I Walked In The Garden" and "Rock Of Ages" at the funeral services. Burial was at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers were William Krueger, Axel Gustafson, Delmar Hanson, Gordon Schuenke, Mylo Anderson, and Martin VanEsch.
Mrs. Brown (nee Josephine Sandwick) was born June 22, 1896, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Sven and Mary Sandwick. Her marriage to John L. Brown took place in Rochester in 1921. The couple lived in Winona and Dodge Center before moving to Faribault in September, 1924. The deceased was a member of the First English Lutheran church. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Hansen (Mildred) of Minneapolis; one son, Robert Brown of Minneapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Jensen, Eagle Grove, Ia., Mrs. Joseph Gunvalson, Cyrus, and Mrs. William Drews, Forest City, Ia.; two brothers, Orvin Sandwick, Park Rapids, and Willis Sandwick, La Porte.
