Mrs. A. C. Forbes, 44, died at her home in Eagle Grove March 4, after many months illness. Mrs. Forbes was a resident of the Washta community for many years and had many friends in Cherokee county.
Alice Caroline Farden was born to the parents Jens and Carrie Farden, November 27, 1902, at Maxbass, N. D., and died at the age of 44 years, 3 months and 7 days. She received the Christian baptism and confessed her Christian faith February 13, 1938, in the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. On July 27, 1930 she was united in marriage to Alfonza C. Forbes. Mr. and Mrs. Forbes have lived in Eagle Grove, Iowa for a number of years, where Mr. Forbes is the manager of the Green Bay Lumber company yards. Mrs. Forbes is survived by her husband, one step son, Norton Forbes, Her mother Mrs. Carrie Farden of Maxbass, N.D., four brothers, A. J. Farden, and George Farden of Maxbass, N.D., M. O. Farden of Spokane, Wash., also two sisters, Mrs. Luther Wilson of Spokane, Washington, and Mrs. I. M. Remen of Evanston, Ill. Funeral services were held March 6 at the Wilson Chapel in Eagle Grove at one o'clock with the Rev. T. J. Severtson officiating. Services were March 7, at the Longbridge Lutheran Church, Osakis, Minn., and interment was in Longbridge Cemetery.
