Ted Hollingsworth, 71, of Blairsburg, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his home in Blairsburg. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the United Church of Christ Congregational in Blairsburg with Rev. Tom Bower officiating.

Ted V. Hollingsworth, the son of Ward and Hazel Sumpter Hollingsworth, was born May 5, 1944 in Des Moines. He graduated from Blairsburg High School in 1961. He married Helen Butler on March 30, 1972 at Vernon Lutheran Church in Dows. Ted farmed for many years in the Blairsburg area until his retirement. The couple enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona for the last 18 years.

Ted is survived by his wife, Helen of Blairsburg; daughter, Melissa Vaughn of Webster City; son, Dustin (Tammy) Hollingsworth of Granger; grandchildren, Wyatt Vaughn, Dakota Vaughn, Kaden Vaughn, Landon Vaughn, Andrew Vaughn, Morgan Hollingsworth, Haley Hollingsworth, Chloe Hollingsworth; and sister, Patsy (Paul) Larson of Green Valley, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ted was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Blairsburg and the Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Tucson, AZ. He was a former member of the Lions Club in Blairsburg. He enjoyed golfing, shooting pool and drinking coffee with his farm friends. He took great pride in keeping his yard well groomed. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
