Rex Allen Shaddox, 56, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at his home in Dows. Rex, the son of William and Mildred Joyce Lott Shaddox, was born October 21, 1958, in El Paso, Texas. He grew up in the Texas, later he moved to California. In California he met Nancy and they began dating and married on March 12, 1983. They moved to Dallas, Texas and he worked as a commercial floor installer. They moved to Boone, Iowa and soon were blessed with a daughter Sonia. They decided to move back to Dallas and were blessed with a son Justin. Rex continued installing floors. They divorced on May 12, 1989, but they continued to be friends. Rex also has a daughter Sandra Stribling of California. Rex moved back to Iowa to be close to his children.

Rex loved working on cars and motorcycles, also enjoying ride motorcycles. He enjoyed camping and fishing, spending time with his family, and his biggest love was his guitar. He played and wrote music his entire life. Rex was a very caring, loving man, he met a lot of people on his travels and had friends everywhere he went.

Rex is survived by his mother Mildred Joyce of Gun Barrel City, Texas, three children Sonia (Shawn) Vinsand of Dows, Justin Shaddox and fiancé Britney Douglas, of Fort Dodge, Sandra Stribling of California, four grandchildren Shawn Heiclick-Keeling, Serenity Vinsand, Tristan Vinsand, and Kehra Vinsand of Dows, ex-wife Nancy Caputo of Webster City, two brothers Danny (Eileen) Shaddox, of San Antonio, Texas, Chris Shaddox, sister Pamela Shaddox both of Dallas, Texas, two nephews Robert and Jeremy Boss, one niece Heather (Elio) Garcia and numerous friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father William Shaddox, a brother Randy Shaddox.
