Eileen Ruth Muller was born July 6, 1926, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of John and Anna Mae (Mullen) Thul. The family later moved to Ames for a short time before moving to Algona in 1933. She attended school in Algona and graduated from the St. Cecelia's Academy in 1944. After her schooling she worked at the S&L Store in Algona. On April 28, 1948, Eileen was united in marriage to Eugene Muller at St. Cecelia Catholic Church. After their marriage they lived in Whittemore until moving to Algona in 1951. When all the children were in school Eileen went to work at Diamonds Clothing Store in 1970 and worked there until her retirement in 2003 and had become affectionately known as "The Boss".

Eileen enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read, travel, play cards and was an avid sports fan. She was an active member of St. Cecelia Parish, the adoration chapel and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Cecelia #283 and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Eileen died Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Algona Manor Care Center. She was 89. She is survived by her children, Dick (Marilyn) Muller of Omaha, NE; Jack (Donna) Muller of Iowa City; Diana (Jack) Quigg of Urbana, IL; Tom (Erin) Muller of Fairmont, MN; Carol (Dale) Reeves of Austin, TX; Dave (Ruth Anne) of Milford; Chris (Frances) Muller of Carroll; Connie (David) Tindall of Algona; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Schmitt of Whittemore and numerous nephews and spouses. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene on July 27, 1998; granddaughter, Autumn Muller and great-grandson, Tanner Monahan-Bode.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Eileen's name to St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 715 E. North St., Algona, IA 50511 or to the Bishop Garrigan Schools, 1224 N. McCoy St., Algona, IA 50511.
