September 1, 1872 --- February 1, 1942

John Henry Oldaker, son of John and Mrs. Oldaker, was born in Illinois Sept. 1, 1872. While still very young he was brought to Iowa, where he grew to manhood in the home of his parents on a farm west of Gilmore City.

On Feb. 19, 1895 he was united in marriage to Edna Tellier of Rolfe, where they lived for about 5 years. They then moved to a farm northwest of Eagle Grove and a few years later to the farm where he was living at the time of his death. Mr. Oldaker was an honored and respected resident of this community for 42 years. There was born to this union, a baby boy and later twin girls, all of whom died in infancy; also three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Holm of Goldfield, Alice, who is at home, Mrs. Lynn Comegy of Des Moines, and one son, Edward, also at home. A granddaughter, Velva Lucille Enfield, has also made her home with her grandparents. He is also survived by three sisters and four brothers. He was a loving husband and kind father, whose chief interest was in his family and his home and with them he spent his time and energy. His life in the community has always been clean, honest and upright, and has earned the respect of all who knew him.
