Mary Ellen Bowman Schnell went to be with Jesus on July 8, 2015. Born November 27, 1942 in Clarion, Iowa, she was the youngest of her siblings. She grew up in Clarion, graduated from Clarion High School, and married Douglas Schnell in 1962 (also from Clarion). They have one son together, Jeffrey Paul Schnell. She worked in clerical positions all over the US and overseas as the family traveled in the military. She truly enjoyed traveling and showing her son the world. She met and became fast friends with all whom she met whether in person or online. Other than her son, her life passions were her two grandbabies and her furry babies.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Edith (Northrup) Bowman, her siblings Richard Bowman, Betty (Bowman) Gaulke, Virginia Bowman, and Robert Bowman as well as a nephew who she was very close to Craig Gaulke (IA). She is survived by her son Jeffrey Schnell and his family (wife Sara) and her grandchildren Annalee and Cooper, (Deland, FL), her ex husband Doug (IA) as well as many nieces and nephews. Her closest niece was with her during her illness and passing as well: Kathy (Gaulke) Flynn (Orange City, FL) and her family, husband Larry, children Carrie and Andy Butcher (Orlando, FL), Luke and Melissa Flynn (Deland, FL), and Nate Flynn (Orlando, FL), and her great niece Reagan (daughter of Luke and Melissa). She has many close friends and family members around the country who will miss her dearly. Condolences can be sent to the care of Jeff Schnell, 1385 3rd ave, Deland, FL 32724.
