Carson Rites In This City
Geo. W. Carson, 69, died Thursday morning [February 9, 1950] at the Moen nursing home in Humboldt where he had been a patient the past six years. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. C. R. Buckwalter, pastor of the Methodist church at Humboldt, will officiate with burial being made in Graceland cemetery. The Adams post 119 of the American Legion at Humboldt will have charge of the committal rights at the grave.
George W. Carson, son of Harry and Mary Carson, was born Sept. 14, 1880, on a farm near Kamrar. He grew to young manhood in that community and was united in marriage to Betsy Bergman of Stratford in 1902. Mr. Carson formerly oprated barber shops at Kamrar, Rowan, Klemme and Livermore. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1931.
He is survived by six children, Harry of LaCrosse, Wis.; Marion of Council Bluffs; Donald of New Hartford; Mrs. Wilbur (Marie) Neimeyer of Garner; Mrs. Albert (Doris) Hackley of Estherville, and Mrs. Roy (Alyce) Bottorff of Webster City; eight grandchildren and one sister. He was a Spanish-American war veteran.
