Carla J. Pals, age 69, of Clinton, Iowa passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Clinton Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service time Monday, both at the Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be in Meservey, Iowa at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Carla was born in Peoria, IL on June 29, 1946, the daughter of Elton and Imogene (Ruckle) Musselman. She graduated from Englewood High School, Englewood, CO. She received her BA in Education from Westmar College in Le Mars, IA. and her Masters Degree from Western Illinois University. Carla married Gary Pals on August 30, 1969 in Meservey, Iowa, and they later raised their family in Clinton.

Carla's greatest interest and love was her family, and she dedicated much of her time to her children and, later, grandchildren, traveling to visit them often. Carla was also a substitute teacher in the East Central School District for many years. She attended Evangelical Free Church.

Carla is survived by her husband, Gary; four children, Taia (Matt) Gelhaus of Albany, OR, Tifne Pals of Midland, MI, Trent (Rachel) Pals of Warsaw, IN and Trevor (Rachel) Pals of Foristell, MO; 11 grandchildren, Ronan, Elliott, Kian and Sonja Gelhaus, Anna, Hudson, Owen, Landon, Brooke, Ryleigh and Kendall Pals; a sister, Jill (Todd) Matthies of Denver, CO and a brother, Miles Musselman of Denver. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial has been established.
