Maurine Louise Hoermann, 88, passed away June 27, 2015. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes, Iowa.

Maurine was born February 11, 1927 in Eagle Grove, IA to William and Winnifred Schillinger. She graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1945 and was united in marriage to Gerald Hoermann on January 19, 1957. Maurine was a homemaker most of her life, but later worked as a nurse’s aide at the Hartley Nursing Home. She was a talented seamstress, making her own wedding gown and her daughter’s prom dresses. She was also skilled at crochet and knitting, loved to cook, and was known for her cinnamon rolls.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Gerald; daughters, Linda (Danny) Priest, Marjorie (Bob) Grote, and Ruth (Richard) Gear; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, and a son and daughter. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
