MRS. STEELE'S DEATH

The death of Mrs. Edward Steele last Friday was a great shock to her family and the community as well. Mrs. Steele had been ill but a few days and was not thought to be seriously sick until a few hours before her death.

Sarah Cochonour was born in Ohio and at the time of her death was 60 years, 6 months and 15 days of age. She moved with her parents to Cedar Falls, Iowa, when she was 7 years old and married Mr. Edward Steele at Quasqueton August 31, 1873. To this union were born six daughters, two of whom passed away before their mother. The four remaining daughters are Mrs. Carrie Mulford of Emmett, Kan., Mrs. Ella Newton of Goldfield, Mrs. Mary Swartzel of Independence and Miss Susie Steele of this place. Mrs. Steele was converted and joined the Congregational church at Quasqueton thirteen years ago. Mrs. Steele was a noble woman, true to all the relations of a faithful wife, mother and friend. The funeral was held Sunday at 11 o.'clock at the church, conducted by Rev. Gifford. Following this interment was made in the Galt cemetery. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved husband and children.
