Marvin Edward Traver was born on October 4, 1914, in Wright County, IA to Albert and Alice (Wilcox) Traver. His family moved to Minnesota when he was six months old. He attended school at Dist. 18. He was baptized and confirmed as an adult at Antrim by Rev. Braur. On June 11, 1940 he married Marcella Schultz. He farmed from 1942-1972. They then moved to Northrop and Marvin worked for Rosen's until 1983. Marvin was active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church and held many offices there. He also enjoyed being a 4-H leader in both Blue Earth County and Waverly Township. Mr. Traver died on Friday evening, October 12, 2007 at the Truman Senior Living.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marcella Traver, Truman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Doyle Greeley, Loveland, CO, Patricia and Ron Appledorn, Vera Dale, WA; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kris Traver, Owatonna, MN; special "Daughter?/family friend, Carol Schultz, Northrop, MN; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; fourteen great, great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Louise Traver and Kathryn Traver; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; five sisters and one grandchild. Marvin always had a joke to tell and a bright outlook on life. His happiness touched many lives. His legacy would be that you pass on a joke and a smile.
