Lena Steffen rites Thursday at Britt church

BRITT, IA -- Mrs. Lena Steffen, 86, died Sunday at a Clear Lake nursing home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Adix will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Boughton Funeral Home in charge. Born May 30, 1877, in Germany, she was married to Ludwig Steffen in 1896. The couple farmed north of Kanawha. Mrs. Steffen later moved to Britt and was a practical nurse. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Guy (Marie) Christensen and Miss Sena Steffen, both of Britt; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a sister and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Lewis; five brothers and two sisters.
