February 18, 1940 --- April 3, 2015

Diane K. Hanson, 75, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 in Mesa, AZ. Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Norway Township Cemetery, rural Kanawha, IA after the service. Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Diane is survived by her husband, Roy; their two daughters, Denise (Gary) Nahnsen of Urbandale and their two children, Anna and Alex Nahnsen, and Nancy Caylor of Des Moines and her son, Nicholas Merrill of Omaha, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Kenneth Vestweber.

Diane Kay Vestweber, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Loats) Vestweber, was born February 18, 1940 in Belmond, IA. She grew up on a farm near Alexander, IA and graduated from Alexander High School. Diane attended business school in Mason City. After she completed business school she moved back to Belmond where she began working and met the love of her life Roy Hanson, Jr. On September 9, 1959 Diane was united in marriage to Roy Hanson, Jr. in Belmond. After their marriage the couple made their home in Belmond for 9 months before moving to Germany where Roy was stationed. After 18 months in Germany they moved back to Belmond. In 1978, they moved their family to Fort Dodge where she began working at Murphy Tractor Co. Diane retired in 2004. After their retirement, Diane and Roy would spend their winters in Arizona and summers in Fort Dodge and Sauk Centre, MN where they enjoyed fishing together. Diane was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge and was part of the Red Hat Society in Arizona. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years.
