Mrs. Ingeborg Michelson

Ingeborg Asseline Johnson was born near Haugesund, Norway, on September 29, 1871, her parents were John and Martha Johnson. She was baptized in infancy and was confirmed in her faith on Sept. 14,1885. In the fall of 1800 she came to America. A year later, on Nov. 12, 1891 she was united in marriage to Amos Severin Michelson. Their entire married life, until 1941, was spent on the farm. All but eight of these 50 years were spent near Lakefield, Minnesota, and four near Spirit Lake and Armstrong, Iowa. For many years they lived near Hardy and later near Bode. In the spring of 1941 they moved to Humboldt where they lived, until their deaths. Mr. Michelson passed away on Nov. 22, 1943 after a long illness, Mrs. Michelson passed away on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 30,1947. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gertie, in 1917, and a son, Milford, in 1922. She leaves to mourn her departure her seven daughters and two sons; Mrs. Osmund Knudson, Mrs. Johanna Roland, Mrs. Osborn Johnson and Mrs. Erling Nelson of Dakota City; Mrs. Jacob Michelson of Hardy; Mrs. Mons Evje of Goldfield; Adolph Michelson of Toledo, Ohio; and Mrs. Lewis Ramsvig and Selmer Michelson of Humboldt. There are 37 grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

In addition to the floral offerings, many friends and members of the family brought memorials for the work of the church, including the support of Sunset Homes the Welfare Society, Radio Missions and Foreign and Home Missions. Funeral services were held Wednesday; Dec. 3, at the First Lutheran church in Humboldt, Rev. F. T. Lokensgard officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery near Humboldt. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Soloist at the services were Mrs. Russell Sime and Mrs. Jacob Torkelson. Accompanist was Mrs. R. M. Wogen. Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Lewis Joiner, Mrs. George Trost, Mrs. S. J. Olson and Walter Schulze. The Bogaard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
