Anna Mathilda Hockel was born in Hamilton county, Iowa, June 24, 1877. Died April 7, 1917, at the age of 39 years, 9 months and 13 days. Came to Humboldt county with her parents in the spring of 1882, where she grew to womanhood. She was married Feb. 19, 1902, to Jacob Hockel, and left that same spring for Idaho, where she had lived until last October, when she came back east to seek medical aid. She died from pernicious Anemia. Everything that medical skill and loving hands could do, was done for her in trying to regain her health. She leaves her husband and three daughters, Grace, age 13, Ruth, age 11, and Gladys, age 4. Besides husband and daughters she leaves father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Michaelson, six sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Eric Williams, Hardy; Mrs. Abel Anderson, Rutland; Mrs. Harry Frowick, Kathleen, Florida; Harvey Michaelson, Hardy; Manley Michaelson, Humboldt, Mrs. Eli Hildal, Clarence, Elmer, Josie, and Bernice at home. She was followed to her last resting place by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
