July 9, 1915 --- March 30, 2015

Marjorie Mae Kraft, the daughter of Robert and Rosetta (Knary) Sidney, was born July 9, 1915 in Emmetsburg, IA. Rosetta died when Marjorie was three, and she and her sister later moved in with her grandparents. She graduated from LuVerne High School, and found a job working as a house keeper.

On April 27, 1935 she was united in marriage to Walter Amos Christian Kraft. The couple often danced together, sometime even in the kitchen. Together they raised four children, settling in the Renwick area living on a farm, where Marjorie was always hard at work. She always made sure the house was clean, and the garden work was done. Marjorie was a wonderful baker. For every birthday, she would make her famous Angel Food cake. She was also very good at making kringla, cinnamon rolls and homemade bread. If there was a stray cat in the area, Marjorie made sure it was well fed as well.

Even as Marjorie started to get older, she was very active. At the age of 76 she purchased a piano and learned to play. She also learned how to crochet, making several hundred pot holders and many afghan blankets for her family. In May of 1997, she left her farm and moved into the Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove. Marjorie died at Rotary Senior Living, in Eagle Grove on March 30, 2015. She was 99.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Garry (Sandy) Kraft of Bode, IA, Don (Carolyn) Kraft of Bixby, OK, Sandy Harris of Lincoln, NE and LuAnn (Frank) Hefty of Katy, TX; daughter-in-law, Marian Kraft; 10 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; sister, Maxine Graves; step sons, Verven and Kenneth Kraft; brother-in-law, Frank Graves; and nephew, David Graves.
