Services Held For Bertha Adams

Bertha Alice Hamblin Adams was born to Arthur B. and Mary E. Hamblin on April 14, 1890 in Sioux City, Iowa. She died March 28, 1978 at Mapleton, Iowa having reached the age of 87 years, 11 months and 14 days. Services were held Thursday, March 30, 1978 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walter Chapel, Mapleton, Iowa with Rev. Louis Aitken officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Mapleton, Iowa. Pallbearers were Donald Willson, Carl Moe, Clifford Fefebvre, Russell McVicker, Arnold Babbe and Everett Sagner.

When two years of age, her parents moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa, where she grew to womenhood. When she was 22 years of age her family moved back to Sioux City. There she met Charles Edwin Adams and they were married March 11, 1915. They moved to Mapleton in April 1915, where they lived their entire life. She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church at Mapleton. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother. She is survived by Mrs. Connie Spain of Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Helen Sierk of Rochester, Minnesota, Mrs. Katherine Varing of St. Paul, Minnesota, three nieces and a nephew, G. A. Hamblin of Broken Bow, Nebraska.
