Viola Grace Coulter was born June 3,1916, to Willie R. and Nora E. Jenkins Coulter in Goldfield, Iowa. She was baptized in the United Methodist Church in Goldfield and attended Goldfield schools, graduating from Goldfield High School in 1935. She was united in marriage with Harry Jorgensen on February 16,1938. They farmed near Clarion, Webster City, and Eagle Grove, Iowa, for nearly thirty years. He died August 5, 1975. She then moved into Eagle Grove.

Viola G. Jorgensen died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at the Clarion Health Care Center at the age of 82. Survivors include two sons, Bernie Jorgensen, Jewell, Iowa, and Bob Jorgensen and wife, Marlene, Columbia, SC; three daughters, Betty Wilhelm and husband, Loren, Boone, Iowa, Berniece Lester and husband, Ernie, Eldridge, Iowa, and Bev Robinson and husband, Mike, Humboldt; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; one sister, Esther, and two brothers, Forest and Everett.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 22, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. from the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Reverend Karen Dearchs of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
