CLEAR LAKE – Word has been received of the death of former Clear Lake resident Kathryn Miranda Grattidge, 85, of Indianola. She died Sept. 30, 1986, at a Des Moines hospital. Funeral services were held Oct. 2 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, followed by graveside services at the Clarion Cemetery in Clarion.

Mrs. Grattidge was born May 18, 1901, at Eldora to David S. and Bertha M. (Leach) Hunter. She married Harold Grattidge on Feb. 17, 1920, at Clarion. They lived in Clarion, Clear Lake and LaFeria, Texas. Mr. Grattidge died June 1971, and Mrs. Grattidge had lived in Indianola in recent years. She was a homemaker and had a special interest in gardening and flowers. She was a member of VFW and AmVets auxiliaries and the Royal Neighbors of America.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Munyan, San Francisco, Calif.; a son, Dick, Carlisle; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, a brother, a half-brother, a half-sister and a granddaughter.
